I used to come here all the time when I was a kid and lived in the area. It's been more than 20 years since I've been there, and just as good as I remember! I miss the old location, but I'm glad to see they're still in business with the best pizza I've ever had!

Little pricey but delicious. The pizzas are very thick with cheese. The crust is light and fluffy that has a sourdough taste to it. If you are in a hurry make sure you call ahead. It takes a while to cook these pizzas. We had to wait 30 minutes.

People come from different places (cities and states) to eat at Matas, Matas is 110% the best at pizza. I wish I had an award to give them. I nominate Matas Pizza for a Grammy.....Award Winning!!!

Matas is a local favorite here in Anniston. By far one of the best genuine and authentic Greek places to eat in the area. Definitely a place worth dropping by to get a slice of there wonderful pizzas hand made and also there delicious Greek salad.

First time trying and I was very impressed! The bread was absolutely AMAZING. The pizza was good but I want to try the sandwiches. Very long wait on food but they do cook fresh.

Its the best greek food around. Definitely the best pizza around. The lines get crazy with all the covid madness. I waited in line 40 minutes on a friday. It was still worth it.

Matas is hands down my favorite place to get pizza. Greek salad and Gyros are awesome.

I'ma go ahead and five star this place. Been eating here for years and it has been extremely consistent. The new location is a great improvement. The food is excellent. I have to order a pizza, grinder and salad with house dressing every time. The prices are extremely reasonable as well, unlike a few other pizza joints I have frequented. This is my favorite. Know this though. This place is extremely busy at peak times, be patient, it is worth the wait. You will notice they keep the food and take out line moving. Once more, it is worth the wait. Call ahead if you are in a hurry. Give 'em a try.

Food was pretty fair, but the atmosphere was not as comfortable and ethnic as the old place. Don't care much for it. Almost like any "fast food" place now.

Meta's is a staple around Anniston/Oxford area they make there pizza with all the toppings baked in the cheese and these are the best pizza in town

The pizza was great as usual, but I had a call in order and still ended up waiting about 35 minutes after the time I was told it would be ready. Smh

Love the pizza!!!!! We stop here every chance where up this way. Hate there closed on Sundays but they are always busy through the week they deserve Sunday off.

There's a reason why the line to order food is often backed up out the door and the phone never ever stops ringing! The food is GREAT!!!

Mata's has the absolute best Greek pizza. Yes, you may have to wait, but that is the beauty of what they do and I promise it will be worth the wait.

This place has been a favorite for over 30 years. The food has been consistent the entire time. I now drive 2 hours to eat there.

The most amazing pizza and Greek eats you will ever taste. Family and group friendly. Inexpensive and great staff on board including management. Also I witnessed the most incredible thing ever from the manager here when we were eating and a homeless family came in starving with kids the manager never hesitated and placed them as regular customers and feed them out of his own wallet then he offered to feed them as often as he could until they got on their feet and established here. Keep up the great work you guys your doing awesome

The pizza is good when you actually get your food. Past 2 times calling in a small pizza and 1 hour and 15 minutes later...still not ready. Service is terrible

Amazing pizza! I worked with someone in Mobile who's from here and she told me next time we were up here to hike to get some pizza. It's the best pizza I've had! Amazing and friendly staff. Very quick service and clean establishment.

Absolutely no flavor. We had the Gyros. Arbys has more seasonings on theirs. Just over all not a good eatings. Good customer service.

This is an amazing place to eat! While you do have to wait a good minute, due to so many customers, the food most definitely makes up for it! I would have most definitely put 5 stars, but I feel a little off about some of the workers their, I have seen two workers so far with cigarettes behind their ears, and one person without gloves. But, aside from all of that, this is an amazing place to eat! You are able to watch as they prepare your food, which is extraordinary!

Maya's Grrak Pizza is a Landmark Pizzaria in Anniston! There isn't another Pizza Place anywhere to compare their pizza to. The best thick crust Pizza Pie anyone could ask for!!!

Excellent pizza and grinders. Baklava is amazing. Greek salad is good. Definitely worth the wait to get your food. Been eating here since I was a little kid, still the same friendly staff and great food.

Every time I get to visit in Alabama, I always make a point of eating at Mata’s. The last time, besides eating there with a special lady, I ordered three pizza’s to go. While I was visiting Alabama, I purchased two pizza carry-out insulated bags from Amazon and was able to carry the pizza’s, fresh, back Maryland.

Good food for a resonable price but damn they get crowded.

The pizza was great! A small dixe will feel three women easily. We had an extra sandwich and a dessert with small soda. The wait was pretty long but it was a busy day for them pay day for lots of folks.

Matas has been a favorite pizza for over 30 years. It is hand made DEEP crust and delicious! You will have a good wait. They are ALWAYS busy, but worth it.
